ECN 1 Principles of Microeconomics 3.00 Units
Economic analysis of market systems, price theory, including supply and demand analysis, marginal utility, elasticity, cost and revenue concepts, perfect and imperfect competition international trade theory, pricing of the factors of production, poverty and income inequalities. Strongly Recommended: Eligibility for ENGL C1000 (Formerly ENGL 1), Prerequisite: MTH 53, MTH 53B or MTH 65 or MTH 65B an appropriate skill level demonstrated through the mathematics assessment process.

An introductory course focusing on aggregate economic analysis. Topics include: market systems, aggregate measures of economic activity, macroeconomic equilibrium, money and financial institutions, monetary and fiscal policy, international economics, and economic growth. Strongly Recommended: ENGL C1000 (Formerly ENGL 1), Prerequisite: MTH 53 or MTH 53B or MTH 65 or MTH 65B or an appropriate skill level demonstrated through the Mathematics assessment process.
